Welcome to Binarybit.com.
The first post is always very awkward; it sets the tone for all blogs to come and if the person reading it doesn’t like this one they are very likely not to read anymore.
This blog is about Binary Bit LAN. It will tell you of our adventure; our troubles and obstacles that we had to over come and it will tell you about writing, debugging and selling php applications.
Some of it will be interesting to you; some of it may not; but don’t worry; there will be something worth reading here or I will not write it.
We started back in 1998. It started out with Mark Ovrebo, Bob Jones, Rod Remelin and Myself Jeffrey Scott. We had very little money but lots of hope in making some. We started out wanting to start an ISP with Web hosting support for web design; writing CMS applications for the public to use. Over the years we wrote 3 CMS applications; each getting better; but none of them was what we wanted. Since I was the only programmer; it was a very slow go to say the least. So we started using Open Source CMS; Rainbow was our first, then DNN, we tested some PHP CMS apps; XOOPS was the first; then we found Joomla. We are still using Joomla to this date. We have developed a Template called Binary Bit Flesh; it makes Joomla worth using; without it I would not use it; sorry; I just didn’t like any of the templates out there. Since then we wrote several Modules: Player, Cube, Google Ad and Time. We just finished Siteman; it creates Sitemaps; both the XML file for Search Engines and a User Menu Item with the same data. Siteman doesn’t show every menu item in the system; instead we decided it best to only show Articles and components that produce content.
Currently we are working on Sitemaster. Its a programmers tools for creating Installable Web Applications; they can be Joomla Templates, Modules, Plugins, or Components; but it will work with any type of Web Application.
Our next project is Binary Bit Cart. Its a shopping cart for Electronic downloads. It has several other components that go with it; but BB Users is at the heart of the system; it is a user database with extended profiles; it will sync users with Joomla, WordPress, PHPBB3 Forum and other web applications.
Trying to keep up with blogs is a full time job and hard to do; but I will try my best.
